Emergency Drills
Both fire and tornado drills are held periodically to acquaint your child with evacuation and safety procedures. This may make quite an impression on your child the first time a drill is held, but he or she will soon become accustomed and know what to do.
Kids At Heart is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic automated direct-dial fire alarm system. Fire extinguishers are placed throughout the facility. Tornado warning sirens are in close proximity and can easily be heard. Weather radios are used when necessary. Call
us to learn more.
Natural Disaster or Inclement Weather
Regular tuition payments are required in cases of natural disasters or events that are out of our control. This also includes prolonged power outages and winter weather. Kids At Heart will always plan to be open. However, if things beyond our control cause us to close, we will notify you via the Preschool2me
app and our voicemail.
Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting
Each staff member is trained to observe symptoms of illness, neglect, and child abuse. If a child shows any evidence of neglect or unusual injuries, Kids At Heart is required to report it to the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.
