Preschoolers
The Kids at Heart preschool curriculum is designed to encourage active learning. We believe children learn by manipulating objects in their environment. During the day, your child will discover many activities that allow him/her to learn about the world. Drama, science, math, art, reading readiness, computer, fine and gross motor skills are all integral components to our active learning centers. Weekly plans focusing on a general theme will be posted in the classroom. As a parent, you can review these plans and use the information to discuss the day with your child.
Please make sure the Director thoroughly covers these points with you.....
• Staff - Child ratio of 1:10(2 ½ -4 yrs old)
• Staff - Child ratio of 1:12(3-5 yrs old)
• Posted weekly lesson plans
• You need to bring: several changes of clothes suitable for the current weather and a special blanket for nap time
• ***Please remember to clearly mark all items brought from home***
• Feel free to discuss any concerns with your child’s teacher or the Director

9:00-9:15 Bathroom
9:15-9:45 Snack time
9:45-10:00 Clean up; Book time
10:00-10:45 Theme-based activity; Circle time; Story time
10:45-11:00 Bathroom
11:00-11:30 Outside time
11:30-12:00 Lunch
12:00-12:15 Bathroom; Brush teeth
12:15-3:00 Nap time; Quiet play
3:00-3:15 Bathroom
3:15-3:30 Snack
3:30-6:30 Theme-based activity; Center time; Outside time
