Sick Policy

Your child’s health is important to us. If your child becomes ill while at Kids at Heart, you will be notified to pick him or her up immediately. In such an event, your child will be isolated from the other children until you arrive and you must make arrangements to pick up the sick child within one hour of notification.

If you know your child is ill, please refrain from bringing him or her to the center to keep other children from being exposed.

Keep your child at home if he or she:
• cannot participate comfortably in our activities;
• needs greater care that our staff can provide without compromising the health and safety of the other children;
• an axillary (armpit) temperature of 100 degrees or higher;
• unusual lethargy, uncontrolled coughing, irritability, persistent crying, difficult breathing, wheezing, uncontrolled diarrhea, vomiting, mouth sores, rash, conjunctivitis or other unusual signs;
• symptoms of a communicable disease

Please notify your Director at once if your child has contracted a communicable disease. To maintain proper staffing, we require payment for care even if your child is ill and cannot attend Kids at Heart.
